The DNA based diagnostic technology he developed can predict if a cancer treatment is working or not. Now doctors have a diagnostic tool that will enable them to change a cancer treatment until it works for the patient. It follows that we may predict that in the near future nobody will die of cancer any more.

This is the turning point in the cancer fight. Discover a unique project that can change the lives of millions of people around the world.

This is a documentary film exploring the theories, writings and life story of American scientist, Howard Urnovitz and his detective-like quest to understand how the immune system fights cancer.

The results of his latest clinical study prove that the DNA based diagnostic technology he developed can predict if a cancer treatment is working or not. Now doctors have a diagnostic tool that will enable them to change a cancer treatment until it works for the patient. It follows that we may predict that in 20-30 years from now, nobody will die of cancer any more.
This is the turning point in the cancer fight. Will the world see it? Will you help us in this?

Fulfilled promise. Groundbreaking technology. Hope for the whole world! Listen to what our protagonist wants to tell you!

An American pathfinding scientist, wine expert and proud Detroiter, Howard Urnovitz, has been searching for a breakthrough in detecting and treating cancer since the early 1970s when his mother Edith died of the disease.

On 4 June 1972, the last day of her life, Howard made a promise to either study cancer in order to find a cure or “if I wasn’t smart enough” to make enough money to fund others.
He was smart enough. That day 45 years ago determined the course of his entire life – a life dedicated to the eradication of one of the greatest evils of our day.

New Doc Details 45-year Cancer Fight

Is there a cure for cancer?

That’s the theme of a new documentary about the life of an eminent, groundbreaking scientist, an American microbiologist, Howard Urnovitz, and his 45-year search for a cancer cure.

The brainchild of Andrzej Miękus and Will Richardsson presents one of the most remarkably inspiring scientific stories of the last half century. Howard Urnovitz made a promise to his mother on her deathbed in 1972 that he would find a cure for cancer. Now his research suggests that both treatment and detection of the disease can be monitored by blood tests with a control of cancer perhaps not far off.

Says Urnovitz: We are approaching a time when cancer will no longer kill us. This is a turning point in the cancer fight.

The feature length documentary will follow the events of Urnovitz’s colourful life as he relates stories of scientific sleuthing in virulent areas like AIDS, Gulf War Illness, Chronic Fatigue and Mad Cow disease. It chronicles the ups and downs of the scientific game from the early seventies until today in a story of driven determination battling the conventional wisdom to create a unified theory of immune response to the disease.

The movie is expected to premiere early next year.

„We live in a time, we will no longer witness our family and our friends dying of cancer. I make this bold statement, cause it has been my quest for over 45 years to make this happen.”

I’ve known Howard since he was doing his Post-Doc at the University of Iowa. Reporting for the local paper as a 19 year old, I came to a very early understanding of the magnitude of Howard’s drive and vision to stem the scourge of Cancer — his quest. That was 38 years ago. Since that time, I have followed Howard’s dizzying pace of work and growth: Beginning with monoclonal antibodies, to HIV, Gulf War Syndrome, Mad Cow disease and more. Where I could, I have always helped. With the media, with Congress and with the CDC and FDA. Why? Howard’s one of my longest and dearest friends. But more than anything, this quest, this journey is Howard’s life.

Howard Urnovitz is a long term friend, who has been a leading proponent and has made tremendous progress in circulating DNA diagnosis of cancer. He came to the University of Calgary to pursue his research program along with Christoph Senson. He’s been a good friend for over 10 years in the US, Germany, and around the world. I am absolutely sure, that his message is essential to all cancer patients around the world.
